Lauren & TJ – Halifax Engagement Photographer

Its been way too long since I’ve posted any recent sessions so here is one of a few posts coming in the next few weeks! I have been extremely busy trying to update my gear for this year before wedding season starts, and it seems all my time goes into that & a few other things! (I have officially made the switch to Nikon, which I am SUPER excited about!) Anyways – that’s what has been going on these past few months as well as some shooting of course!

I love photographing engagement sessions. (probably one of my favorite things to shoot!) Its just a great opportunity to get to know a couple and have a lot of fun! Lauren and TJ are so sweet, and so easy to photograph! When I first met them, it was evident how in love they are. I feel fortunate to be getting to know them. We chose York Redoubt and some surrounding areas as a location for their engagement session, and it was a ton of fun to explore around the area! It was definitely a little chilly, but we all made the best of it!  I absolutely can’t wait to photograph their wedding next month! Here are a couple shots from their session..

Love these pictures, all so beautiful but my favorite is the long shadow casted as they stand by the water…a reflection of a long and happy life together.

love your eye! I really like the wide angle of the couple with the Dingle in the background… and that they are in the middle of the mouth of the harbour too… :O)

Business Cards | Halifax Photographer

I recently ordered these mini business cards from moo.com, and absolutely love them! The shape and size is perfect, and I love how you are able to have a different image on each card! (Its like having a little portfolio in my pocket!) I will definitely be ordering some more in the future! I just thought id share how they turned out!

Fall Colors | Halifax Photographer

Last month Sam and I headed out to Point Pleasant Park here in Halifax and just shot some stuff for fun. It was great being able to use the fall colors as a background. October is my favorite month to shoot, the colors are so vibrant, and its not too hot out or too cold! Sam recently went from being super blonde to brunette, and I think it suits her perfectly! Here are a few from the shoot..

I love this photos! I love the shoot… the colours, scenery, and Sam of course. I agree that she looks great as a brunette!

Halifax Engagement | Matt & Amy

Matt and Amy are one of those couples that you just love to be around. I met Matt three years ago in college, and he is actually the designer of my logo! He also photographs weddings, so I have to admit that at first I was a bit intimidated to shoot another photographers wedding! But after meeting with them and shooting their engagement session, I am beyond excited and can’t wait to photograph their day. We started off the session at Heart Shaped Pond just off the Bedford Highway, and then made our way down to Citadel Hill for a couple different shots! Here are a few from the session..

Kristyn, I would say you did a fantastic job! You are awesome at what you do so don’t be intimidated :)

Shabana - October 25, 2011 - 8:28 pm

Kristyn, these are so yummy. Perfect lighting. I think it’s tough to make an engagement shoot natural and so many of them look painfully contrived but you’ve done an amazing job here. The photo’s are so romantic!!

Shelrae & Dexter

I recently traveled to Grand Manan Island this summer to visit with family for a week. It is where my mom grew up & I love going there every summer to see family, but also because it is such a beautiful place. My cousin Shelrae wanted a newer graduation photo and I was more then happy to go out and shoot! The light was great, and these two were so cute! Here’s a few from the session…
